PostSubject: BindKey Basics   Wed Jan 13, 2010 2:29 pm

Here r Bindkey Basics as per Bugs request. Very Happy

While in game hit ~
Backspace say
Type bind (Key of choice) commo(Option list 1) | commosendmessage (number)
Note: using | will separate commands and enable multiple ones.

Example:

>bind p commoradio | commosendmessage 5

Whenever u press ''P'' now u will say ''Take Cover'' via radio

to add more commands u simply go...

>bind p commoradio | commosendmessage 5 | commoradio | commosendmessage 5

When ever u press ''P'' now u will say ''Take Cover'' and immediately after say ''Take Cover'' again, then everyone will be like 'Get a load of this retard' lol.

Optionlist 1.
radio
hand
shout
whisper

To display a specified text with a bindkey u type the command like this

Bind (key) commo(optionlist 2) | Say (watever u wish to say)

Example:

>Bind p commoglobal | Say ExTorTioN is awesome!

Now when u press ''P'' u will globally say ''ExTorTioN is awesome!'' .....which i am lol.

>Bind p commoglobal | Say ExTorTioN is awesome | commoradio | Say I think he bought it

Now upon pressing ''P'' u will globally say ''ExTorTioN is awesome'' and immediately after radio say ''I think he bought it''

Optionlist 2
global
radio
shout
whisper

Now combining everything is relatively simple

Example:

>Bind p commoradio | Say Look at my hand | commohand | commosendmessage 1

Upon pressing ''P'' u will radio say ''Look at my hand'' and immediately after give the hand signal MoveOut.

Now for the extras!

in ur user.ini files, already u should have commands bound to specific keys, so just copy the commands and paste with a | in front/behind them to say u r moving on to a new command.

Example:

> bind p suicide

U will kill urself

> bind p commoglobal | Say Suicide!!! | suicide

Now upon pressing ''p'' u will globally say ''Suicide!!!'' and immediately after kill urself.

Example 2:
Ordinarily when u press ''M'' u call for a medic, in ur user.ini files the command should read M=CallMedic
So when binding it and others to a key u go:

>bind p CallMedic | commoradio | Say M E D I C!

Upon pressing ''P'' u will call for a medic as usual and immediately after radio say ''M E D I C!''

Note: If the chat box is not large enough in-game 2 combine ur freakishly long commands then go 2 user.ini files and do the exact same thing only replace >bind (key) with
(uppercase key)=

I really hope this has simplified it for u a great deal, cause that other stuff didn't help me lol.

Yer nice work Extortion but ill add just 1 thing make a backup copy of your user.ini file in Programs/AmericasArmy/System in case you get kicked for cvars and freakout so you can just replace and everythings normal again and you wont get kicked...
you can do some good things to do with binds for example..

Shout Frag Out without Throwing a Grenade

<key>=CommoShout | CommoSendMessage 28 | CommoRadio | CommoSendMessage 99
Allows you to shout Frag Out! without throwing a grenade.

Sensitivity Switching

This bind allows you to bind a mouse sensitivity switch to actions that you perform. For example you can bind a high sensitivity to your crouch key, and a low sensitivity to your prone key. This allows you to better handle the recoil of the weapon across many positions while retaining all properties and magnitudes of the recoil... It basically makes it more comfortable for you to control.

Examples:
key=crawling | setsensitivity 4
key=crouching | setsensitivity 5
key=sprint | setsensitivity 6

Obviously this could be used with other actions, but the greatest benefit seems to be with controlling recoil. For instance you could theoretically decrease the mouse sensitivity while you have a 203 armed in order to get better precision.
